Huong is the International Partnership and Engagement for Know One Teach One (KOTO). Previously, she worked for InfraRisk Melbourne as a Business Analyst. Huong is a resilient young leader who was raised by her single mother and had to leave school at the age of 12 despite a burning dream of becoming a teacher. Huong spent her childhood in Hanoi living on the street, she would wake up at 2am each day to sell sticky rice and study at night at an informal education school. Huong’s life changed once she discovered the social enterprise, Know One Teach One (KOTO) in 2006 where she studied to become a waitress. In 2012, Huong received a scholarship via KOTO and Box Hill Institute to study in Melbourne and became the first and only Vietnamese student to receive two awards for Victorian International Student of the Year and the Premier Award in 2013. Huong completed her Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Swinburne University of Technology in 2016.
