Maria Tran

Maria is an actor, filmmaker, and community arts trainer. She is the Managing Director of Phoenix Eye Pty Ltd, an independent film and art production house established in 2017 in Western Sydney.

Maria was the Director and Producer of “Quest for Jackie Chan!”, a transmedia film project that engaged a wide and diverse range of participants and audience in the major population centers of Australia, Hong Kong, and China. She also made various short films such as Metro Screen supported “A Little Dream”, award-winning “Happy Dent” and an action Kung Fu comedy movie “Maximum Choppage”. She holds a degree in Psychology and is passionate about screen culture amongst the culturally diverse communities in Australia.

Maria’s Achievements
• Maria’s mockumentary short “Hot Bread Shop” was selected for the 2011 Colourfest Film Festival
• Awarded Breakout Female Action Star at the International Action on Film Festival, 2017
• Bringing diversity to Australian screen culture and elsewhere
