Australian Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam
Chau Ta is served as President of the Australian Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam (AusCham), in 2016 and 2017. She has been on the board of Auscham since 2014 and continuing. Chau is also the Foundation Director for AustCham ASEAN, a Australia chamber Australian Chambers of commerce throughout ASEAN. Chau also sits on the RMIT (Vietnam) School of Business Management Industries Advisory Board
Professionally, Chau is the Transaction Counsel for SC Capital Partners Group in charge of all transactions Pan Asia including Australia, New Zealand, Maldives, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Greater China and Vietnam. SC Capital Partners Group manages opportunity funds – Real Estate Capital Asia Partners (RECAP I, RECAP II, RECAP III RECAP IV and most recently RECAP V) with over US$2 billion in capital commitments from institutional investors across the four funds.
Prior to joining SC Capital Partners, Chau practiced not only in Vietnam with one of the country’s largest international law firms on property law, but also served as Vice President for Legal Affairs of one of Vietnam’s leading listed property funds and most recently with DFDL as its Vietnam’s Head of Real Estate Practice Group. Chau is highly experienced in real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, international corporate/commercial law.
Chau is highly regarded for her real estate insights and knowledge within Vietnam and has been appointed as a Judge on the Panel of Judges for the Vietnam Property Awards in since 2015 and has just been reappointed for 2018. Chau has also organized and continue to run the annual AusCham – Vietnam Real Estate Symposium (this year will be its 6th year).
Chau has been living and working in Vietnam since 2006.
Chau holds a Masters of International Law and an LLB/BA from the University of Sydney. She is an Australian qualified lawyer with unique international and Vietnamese law experience on real estate matters and a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors.
