Elise Giles is the Capability Development Manager at Asialink Business, Australia’s National Centre for Asia Capability. Elise is also a Director on the Board of the Australia-Vietnam Young Leadership Dialogue & Co-Steering Committee Director, an initiative established to nurture relationships, collaboration between Australian and Vietnamese leaders.
Elise has worked and studied across Asia, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea, and has a wealth of experience engaging with government, private and community sector in these international environments.
Elise was deployed to Vietnam to strengthen local capacity to address infectious disease threats with the Government of Vietnam, working closely with the Australian Government and UN agencies. Elise also delivered the 2019 Australia-Vietnam Young Leadership Dialogue, held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, a four-day transformative residential program for leaders across Australia and Vietnam.
Previously, Elise worked within economic and social policy portfolios in the Queensland State Government. In 2019, Elise was recognised as an ASEAN-Australia Young Leader for her ability to drive issues and opportunities of significance to other young leaders across both Australia and the ASEAN region.
