Vietnam-Australia Human Resource Development Partnership

Graham Alliband is currently Program Director of the Vietnam-Australia Human Resource Development Partnership funded by the Australian Government. He has previously headed three Australian Government-funded projects in Vietnam: the Australia Awards Vietnam Program (2009-2016), the Capacity Building for Effective Governance (CEG) Facility (2002-2006), and the Vietnam-Australia English Language, Technical Training and Resources (VAT) Project (1997-2002). From 1992 to 1997 he worked variously as an investment and aid consultant mostly in Vietnam. As an Australian diplomat he has had three postings to Vietnam ending up as Australian Ambassador to Vietnam from 1988 to 1991. Prior to this appointment as Ambassador, he spent 7 years out of the diplomatic service as National Director of the Australia Freedom from Hunger Campaign (1981-1988). Graham has a Masters Degree in Comparative Government from Cornell University, Ithaca, USA (1969) and BA Hons 1 (Oriental Studies), ANU, 1966.
