Andrew Phong (AP) / Phòng Kiết Tường is an award winning professional and a proud Vietnamese Australian.
AP holds a Bachelor of Business (International Business) from Western Sydney University, where he was awarded eight overseas scholarships to work and study abroad in China, India, Thailand, Vietnam and the United Kingdom. He was the recipient of Western Sydney University's Alumnus Award in 2019 having previously been recognised for his leadership and contribution to the development of multicultural communities through the Collegiate Award in 2017.
He is a passionate champion of Australia Vietnam capabilities having previously contributed towards the 'Vietnam Innovation Ecosystem 2019' report during his time with Austrade, Ho Chi Minh City. AP has continued to advocate for the benefits of being 'Asia-literate' and its importance to the region's strategic future through his capacity as an Alumni Ambassador and Mentor to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's New Colombo Plan initiative.
AP was a sitting member of Deloitte Australia’s ‘Shaping Future Cities’ steering committee and is currently a founding member of Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue’s GenWest Youth Adivsory Panel and Western Sydney University’s School of Business Dean’s Alumni Advisory Group.
Through the cultivation of unique and diverse networks, AP aims to unite and support the establishment of mutually beneficial outcomes for the Australian and Vietnamese people through new opportunities and ventures. Born and raised in Australia’s fastest growing and most multicultural region in Western Sydney, he is no stranger to overcoming barriers to new possibilities.
He is currently the Project and Research Support Officer to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Strategy, Government and Alliances at Western Sydney University, where he is responsible for the provision of high level political and executive support to senior leadership.
