SAMANTHA WILSON
Samantha Wilson is a People and Culture professional with a unique background in delivering projects, curating events and managing workforce groups across the tourism, telecommunications and international events sector. As a recipient of an Australian Government New Colombo Plan Scholarship, Samantha has extensive experience working and studying across Asia as part of her Bachelor of Business (Human Resources) and Bachelor of International Tourism and Hotel Management degrees from Griffith University. Previously, Samantha was Workforce Manager for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and Expo 2020 Dubai, two global mega events that hosted 71 nations and territories and 190 participating countries respectively. In her roles, Samantha worked closely with a range of stakeholders to sustain key relationships, deliver workforce services and develop policies, procedures and engagement initiatives for staff, volunteers and contractors. Currently working in the People and Culture team at Optus, Samantha supports senior leaders across Australia with employee relations, governance and policy advice. No matter what hat she’s wearing, Samantha’s goal is simple - to connect people and empower organisations and leaders to develop strong, capable and diverse workforces.
