Joseph works for the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry to grow international agricultural partnerships.

Joseph grew up on his family farm in New South Wales. After graduating from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies, he spent two years volunteering in Vietnam as a research officer, working alongside prawn farmers to develop climate-smart agriculture techniques. Joseph is constantly inspired by the positivity and innovation of Vietnamese and Australian farmers.

Joseph later worked with industry, governments and Traditional Owners to implement sustainable water management in the Murray-Darling Basin.

Joseph continues to strengthen climate action and cultural links with Vietnam through his volunteer role with Mekong Organics, which delivers innovative educational programs to Vietnamese small businesses and farmers.

His life motto: “Luck is when opportunity meets preparation.”
