Phat is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Planning Officer at Long Son Petrochemical Co., Ltd and Founder of the ‘Chạy Nhặt project’ which translates to ‘running and picking up the trash’ in Vietnamese. To date, the ‘Chạy Nhặt project’ has mobilised over 3,000 local and international participants to clean up nearly 4 tons of plastic waste on Vung Tau beach. Phat has also facilitated discussions with approximately 1,000 high school and university students to educate them on how to combat plastic pollution. He was the recipient of the prestigious Asian Peacebuilders Scholarship (APS) where he earned dual master’s degrees in Political Science and Peace Education at the United Nations’ mandated University for Peace (Upeace) in Costa Rica where he was selected as the valedictorian. Phat’s impact goal is to transform Vung Tau into a zero plastic waste city.
