Simon Truong

Simon is a Lead Operational Risk Architect at IBM. He is a trusted advisor in helping clients navigate the increasingly challenging and complex regulatory, risk and conduct landscape with a focus on financial services. Simon, as part of a University of Technology Sydney startup incubator co-founded Hippo, a medical application service which aimed to change the patient experience by reimagining how clinicians and patients interact to produce better outcomes. In 2017, Simon won 1st prize as part of a team for the "LawyerUpp" PoC submission at the #breakinglaw Hackathon sponsored by King & Wood Mallesons.

He brings a pragmatic and commercial approach gained through consulting and business facing experience when advising, creating and implementing risk management solutions. Simon believes strong governance, risk and compliance measures aligned to all interested stakeholders is critical to building sustainable, effective and accountable institutions in an era of eroding institutional trust.
